Sooo, do I get this right: the son should study so he gets rich and can afford a young trophy wife when he's an old geezer, and the daughter should study so she does not have to become the young trophy wife of a fat old geezer in the future? Is this meme supposed to inspire or to depress young people?

My thoughts exactly. Neither is really a good lesson. And why would you want to teach your son to get rich so he can essentially "buy a wife"? Not really the best parenting, if you ask me.
