I once was nearly hospitalized because I almost collapsed due to severe anemia caused by an extremely heavy period that lasted about 3 months. My doctor was not happy I never notified anyone about how long I'd been on my period. I was given a pill/treatment to interrupt it for some months so I could recover from the blood loss.
I've been on it more than once because of how irregular they are and because I was diagnosed with pocs, but those pills are utter hell for me. Even the lowest possible dose gave the worse nausea I've ever experienced and made me throw up every now and then, and once I reached the seven placebo pills I'll get the most painful cramps, I couldn't even walk straight and all I wanted was to twist myself like a pretzel to alleviate the pain. I always interrupted the treatment because I just couldn't withstand the side effects any longer.
To mostly everyone else those pills are wonderful, to me they are torture
I got on the pill after I had my daughter and it ended up screwing up my cycle so I was having mine every other week. One solid week on my period, one off then all over again. It royally sucked.

Never complaining about my cramps again.
