Definitely. If your Sims do poorly enough then this trait will be forced in them when they age up.

This trait also usually results in an almost invincibility I think when your sim tries to accidentally kill itself

Don't do it with the loser trait! It's the unlucky trait that does that; Loser trait makes it LESS LIKELY for you to succeed when pleading for your life!
