In't a flag designed to visually identify a country from another? Or is it a representation of one's pride in something? If the former, what purpose would it have? With what other planets are we differentiating from? I know I overcomplicated this a bit, but that's what first came to mind, lol.

Now that we are traveling to different planets and scientific advances in space travel are advancing, the need to have a flag for our planet is increasing. We used to have flags for villages, kingdoms, or even just families, (Sigils). Think of it that way. As we advance and expand our exploration radius, we need more flags to identify territory. Eventually we will need a flag for the Galaxy, and mayyyybe eventually the universe.
So was crossing the ocean at one point. Took months and nearly everyone died. Now, you can do it in a few hours and sometimes it's free with the right credit card!
