Abigail. My ex wasn't keen on Hermione.

That's a lovely name! I'm not too sure if my future partner (should I ever get one that is lol) would really agree either, but if I could have my way it'd be Hermione.

Don't do Hermione. Never name your kid after a fictional character. All these 'unique' names just create an easy target for bullying when growing up. Do your kid a favor, give them a normal name.

I'll name my daughter Hermione and if kids give her a problem, she'll have my permission to tell them to fuck off. But nicely, of course.

or we could raise our kids to know that you shouldn't bully people.. of course it will not stop all bullies.. but as Ive seen it, many bullies have parents that see no wrong in bullying / teasing etc.. why change the names that we like? then we might as well change anything that stands out/ is considered "different", oh what a boring world..

Sure just name your kid fuckass and then blame society for bullying your kid you can't just live in an ideal world where everyone suddenly changes. Bullies exist, and will always exist, you can't change that. Don't punish your kid just because the world isn't as great as you thought it was.
