Anubis and Bastet were such sweethearts. In actual mythology, Bastet was a mindless, killer cat, and Anubis was the god of death, so he couldn't feel anything. But I love their Kane Chronicles counterparts much better.
I think you are confusing Bastet with Sekhmet. Sekhmet was the lion goddess of fire, war, dance, love, and medicine, and was more bloody thirsty. Bastet was the goddess of cats, protection, joy, dance, music, family, and love and somewhat more reserved unless she was protecting Ra.
True, and untrue. Certainly, as a cat, Bastet was goddess of protection, joy and dance, however, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't either Isis, or Nut/Geb god(dess) of love? And after some quick research, Sekhemet has a counterpart that was a god of love.
On many different wesites, it states that Bastet was the goddess of children, pregnant women, and guardian of Ra.
Hathor, Sekhemet's other half, is the goddess of Love, and family.
A) As mentioned Isis is not depicted, B), Isis the goddess has been revered for millennia before the worthless warmongering garbage that is currently terrorizing the Middle East.
