It's not that we don't believe it's an illness, it's that so many people claim to have it when they don't

My doctor: "You have generalized anxiety disorder"
My therapist: "you're depressed"
My dad: You're just having a bad day, and your hormones are making you think you're upset when you're not. You're fine, just sleep it off, you'll feel better in the morning.
*fist in air* FUCK YES. If we've beaten this bastard once, we can do it again. It's a clever little shit though.

It's not really something that we beat, in my opinion. It's something that you fight against every day. You can't ever really beat it, but you prevent it from beating you, and you keep going, and that's how you can still win. We will be victorious because we're strong enough to not give in.
Yep.. Like when i said to my lecturer i cant do it.. I wasn't being dramatic i meant that I physically couldn't do it because of having a panic attack -.-
Once I had a panic attack and someone told me to shut up and stop using my anxiety as an excuse to get out of things. They also kept yelling while I was crying.
Does anyone feel like everyone on Facebook seems to share and like pictures about anxiety? I am always cynical about whether they truly have an anxiety disorder or just low confidence..
Some people do it for attention. If you haven't been diagnosed by a doctor or you're not taking meds to help then stfu. I was diagnosed about 8 yrs ago and it's a battle with my mind 24/7. It piss's me off when people claim they have it when they have no idea what's it's like to go to war with your own brain every day.
Good point, i totally agree :/ it also dilutes peoples understanding of a true anxiety disorder.. I hope it improves for you and keeps on getting less of a problem :)
it's just that; an illness
No idea if grammatically correct, it just looks good.
"Nows not a good time for your anxiety." Is a shitty thing to say to someone and I will never forgot the twat that said that to me.
