Defense against the old generation

i think it saying that each generation just keeps telling the new generations the same stuff and not allowing them to think for themselves, the child is learning for himself and expanding the knowledge we already have.

At least in America, we're still evolving from the old thinking. Down south people still unconsciously segregate. Like you walk on a different side of the street as a person of the opposite color.
