Why is the cradle at an angle?

it isn't, the chair is because most rocking chairs balance slightly tilted back ( I think )

... cool invention, but you couldn't sell it because it is not up to code /regulations for what a safe crib should be. You couldn't leave the baby in this. The biggest issue is the gap between the crib and the chair.
