I expect a dramatic increase of pedestrians getting hit while walking and texting because they'll never hear these cars coming. Too quiet....

Just a thing to remember though, guys.. an electric car is only as clean as the power grid it connects to. So your electric car is statistically running on 33% coal and 33% natural gas. They will be excellent once we switch over to complete thorium power though!

Except the public is too afraid of nuclear power. It may take until we get fusion power situated for us to have clean energy. But a neat bladeless wind turbine has come out somewhat recently.

Pseudo-intellectuals always say that fusion is the way of the future... it is kind of disappointing. Maybe the extremely far future, but now is the time for the nuclear crossover. Specifically thorium. Nuclear has the least deaths per kilowatt-hour produced. It is also impossible for LFTRs to explode or melt down. Oh, and we already have the technology for worldwide clean energy for at least thousand years. We have for roughly sixty years. We are just now doing tests for fusion with ITER and similar projects.

Nuclear fission is fine, and I'm all for that. But people are afraid of it, and there's not much we can do. There's always this about how breeder reactors and such can be used for nuclear weaponry, or any reactor for that matter. And the fuel industry definitely isn't helping. It's one thing to have the technology, but getting people to implement it is another.

China is implementing it. Also, Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactors do not produce plutonium-239, which is what is used to make nuclear weapons. It would be so insanely difficult to turn thorium waste into weapons that nobody sane would ever try. Also, thorium is a fertile fuel, not a fissile fuel. OH and these molten salt reactors use the nuclear waste we currently have as fuel. "People are scared" won't stop me. This is my actual life mission. I am training to be a nuclear engineer right now. The main struggle will be battling the people who own coal and oil companies, because they also own the politicians. That is the sole reason I want to get into politics in 30 years.

You will be a good person then. If you can educate the masses, then surely we can achieve the future.
