Because you love them (romantically or not) and want to show it without saying any sappy bullshit. Plus touching (mainly hugging) can be a form of comfort for many,myself included.
Well,for example..my dad and I went to a convention recently. It's one of the few times I get to spend time and I enjoyed it,and as a result,was a bit depressed when it was over. So I hugged him before I left. The hug showed that I had fun and that I'm grateful.
Oh there's no problem being a fangirl XD you know, I actually haven't heard much of Quintessential seeing as I haven't been on much social media lately, but yeah, I'm always looking forward to their albums. Can't wait to see what they come up with, seeing as every album is different and wondering if they're gonna continue and switch it up, ya know?
