One of the funniest comedy bits I've seen is Eddie Izzard talking about when this was developed. And the conversation went something like...it's not really a maneuver, it's more of a gesture at the moment

Fun Fact: They don't call it the 'Heimlich Maneuver' anymore because when it didn't work, people would sue Heimlich. So now they call it 'abdominal thrusts'. (It's also more helpful because if you don't know what to do the name can give you an idea)

I heard that his name was taken off the action after it was discovered that he came up with the manoeuvre while sexually assaulting a child.... I'm not sure if this is true so if someone could confirm or deny?
