Two shootings, two days in a row... First Christina Grimmie gets shot and the next day 51 other people also get shot. What has happened to this world?

i guess i cannot comment on my own message or i cant figure it out but let me explain why I think that everyone needs to move on because my last one got super positive responses. The thing though is that people die everyday. We have changed from mourning every death which is sad i agree but i don't want to hear it yes the worst mass shooting but in fact this is nothing compared to what our history has presented the bubonic plague which killed 25 million people and both the world wars killing over 80 to 90 million a lot were innocent. Life is not fair and it takes a lot but because 50 americans were shot and killed we need to mourn and talk about it for weeks. If we lived in the middle east this would be a monthly occurrence. The last sentence I strongly apologize for that was really insensitive and i feel bad for the victims of this shooting and the families associated but all I am saying is death is gonna happen we need to learn to celebrate the life then move on. not mourn forever.
also morebacon this should have nothing to do with them being gay in fact most of the gay community said this was an attack on humanity. It is not like something like this is unheard of im pretty sure each group has faced persecution and things like this.
Are you kidding? He deliberately attacked a gay club, it had everything to do with gay people. And I have seen PLENTY of the LGBT+ community, myself included, specifically say not to erase or downplay the fact that this was an attack against us.
Really and what do you guys hope to accomplish by pointing out the fact that they are gay. Prove that you guys face persecution well congrats we all face persecution and you guys can't change what people feel inside no matter how much you try. I honestly don't see any point in showing that they are gay. And if you would call it an attack on gays and lgbt members instead of humanity. I thought that was the point of your movement to make you equal with the rest of us.
Erasing the fact that this was an attack specifically on the LGBT+ community erases the fact that homophobia is still a huge problem. A lot of people think it's over now that "the gays have the right to marry" but guess what, it's not over. So many LGBT+ people live in fear of things like this everyday. Yes, even in the US. So many politicians are actively trying to take away our rights., or prevent us from gaining anymore. Our fucking ridiculous gun control laws make it so easy for any homophobe, transphobe, LGBT+ hating person to massacre us like this guy did.
.
And so what if "we all face persecution?" Is persecution some kind of competition now? Because guess what? Straight people aren't about to be shot up just because of who they love. This was about us, you homophobic piece of shit. Deal with it.
Wow,miss tits..I actually agree with you. Of course I would've worded that a bit differently in order to prevent unintentionally creating an "us vs them" mentality, but that's just me being a bit paranoid.
Really you guys suffer so much don't you. Everyday I walk to school and gay couples there kiss and hug in front of the whole school and dont face anything and did i say we get persecuted for being straight. I meant i get persecuted all the time for my religion. Yet when we hear a missionary die we dont go putting candles on the street we celebrate the life they lived and we move on. And no persecution is not a competition but you need to realize you are not the only group facing it. Also on politicians taking rights you should not be aloud to say that because i know that there are gays fighting my religion so they can be married in our temples which is against our religion infringing my rights. All im saying is im tired of people mourning death for too long we just need to enjoy life and focus on positive things for the first day or two ok that is understandable but for weeks and potentially months too far. Im sorry but the world does not stop turning for anyone.
I'm so sorry, I didn't realize a few gay people not getting shit for expressing their love overrode all of those that are harassed and killed for it.
.
I did not say we are the only group facing persecution. No shit, we're not. But that does not mean you take away from the fact that it *was* us that were attacked this time. Because it was.
.
Are you fucking kidding me? You think I can't complain or talk about politicians trying to take the right to marry, adopt kids, or use the fucking bathroom, etc. away from people like me? Just because gay people want the right to get married where they want? They should absolutely be able to marry in a place of worship specific to their religion. Just because they're gay doesn't mean they aren't religious or don't deserve the same religious rights as everyone else. Other people getting married in your temples is not infringing on *your* specific rights because guess what, they're marriage has nothing to do with you. (Cont...)
(Cont...) You do not get to tell people how long it is acceptable for them to mourn. The LGBT+ community is tired of our people being killed and tired of no one doing anything about it other than erase it. If we want to be angry about it, we fucking will. Things don't change when you "just move on" and things need to fucking change. So I don't care if you think it's unnecessary, we will keep bringing it up, we won't let you forget about it until something fucking changes.
yeah no duh things need to change and yes you guys getting married is infringing. Because my religion says that marriage is between a man and a woman and that people can't get married in our temple because god said so and if you guys wanna fight that you won't gods law wont change for you. Btw I am saying that you act as if you guys are getting killed daily on the street and that we need to stop that well im sorry but we can't. You cannot dictate what everyone is gonna do that is america you have free rights but it also comes with consequences. And my friend served a mission in russia he got his face caved in with a bat in an ally no one came to his rescue no media covered it he had to be flown to germany for facial reconstruction. Every time one of you faces persecution you have thousands of people on social media jumping to your rescue. You guys act as if thousands are getting. And what im saying is nothing makes you any different from us and if you arent satisfied with that im sorry
continued. but the world can't be a nice easy life for you. And you say until it changes until what changes. You think you are gonna make every single person like your life style. You think you are gonna make everyone non radical and extreme thinking. Well tough nuts but as much as you want you cant change how people think because that is america. If you dont like it than leave.
I'm not going to get into a religious debate with you @theaveragehammer, but Jesus said that a man can be born an eunuch, meaning they have a physical deformity keeping them from marrying a woman, and vice versa. In this ancient context, a man could be born with female sexual organs and still look like a man. Same thing with women. Jesus also taught love and tolerance. Something religion has done a great job of teaching the opposite. A vast majority of Christians boderline hate gays. I've been a Baptist all my life. I love gays. My gay friends are some of the funniest, kind hearted, loving people I've ever met. My cousin is gay and he runs a highly successful Christian orphanage in Haiti. I have another gay cousin who is an evangelical singer who has led hundreds of people to Christ. If God disproves of homosexuality then why would he bless these two men to be representatives of him?
i dont wanna get into a religious debate either and to answer that its a trial. Every person has there own trial and being gay is one of those trials. All I am saying is death happens and that we can't just focus on it for a long period of time. It is a tragedy and tragedies happen all the time. I am kinda just angry that because they were gay it gets a lot more extra coverage. Cause I mean this is like a monthly occurrence in the middle east and does each situation get a week of non stop coverage? I just dont wanna hear about it for weeks is what im saying it is what it is. There is nothing more to it. It is not a gun issue it is not a Muslim issue or a type of lifestyle. What really happened was someone was not right in the head and killed a ton of people. That is it and i don't wanna hear about stuff like this all the time.
And what im pissed off about with calmthelovelytits is that he over dramatizes everything. Like gays are this hugely prosecuted group when to be honest they are not really any more persecuted than others. I mean I think there are groups that go through equal or even greater persecution. To be honest it's as if you disagree with gays or dont sympathize with them then you are considered evil. They act as if they are jews in the next holocaust.
you dont even respond to my whole argument you keep picking only certain sections you are interested in so no real point in arguing seeing as i have made a few points that i am pretty sure you cant retort
I disagree, people did care about these people before they died. These people had families, friends, people who loved them. I am sure if you told the people of Orlando to stop pretending you would get a horrid response. I agree that we need to move on and not have the media hype things up so mutch, but i feel it is still an importiant subject that needs to be shared.
Thank you for reading
We will move on @theaveragehammer you insensitive excuse for a human being. It was the worst mass shooting in American history, all b/c they were gay. And who are you to judge if someone is pretending? This happend 20 min away from where I live and I know people who were effected by it. I guess you thought Aurora, New Town, the Church shooting, and the Boston Bombing were highly over hyped too don't you.
