Oh really?
My microwave makes the beeping noise, not only when it finishes, but when it starts and whenever someone presses the 'stop' button.

Yeah. If you have an options button it should have a mute option.

My microwave broke years ago, two days after we bought it, but it still worked, and only the sound stopped. Needless to say, we didn't get a new one.
