Here's my theory:the less educated you are, the more likely you are to murder someone or commit a crime. This is supported by the countries in the highest intentional homicide rate list. The best way to solve violence is to fund education.
This is just ignorant, you can't say arming people with guns reduces crime based on some false facts. You end up sounding like Donald trump, I mean know one wants to sound like cheese covered asshole
And those few homicides could be prevented through slightly stricter control, such as more in-depth background checks and preventing those on terror watchlists from purchasing firearms (which, if I remember what I heard on the news right, are some of the things that the US government has recently prevented from being made law).
I've seen it happen before. And someone won't even know they're on there until they try to board an airplane. Plus the appeals process is so convoluted as to be practically non-existant. Hell, with all of the stuff I've been spewing, I'll bet I'm on the terror-watchlist.
There was two terror watch list laws up for vote this week. The Democrats proposed automatically blocking ipeople on "watch lists" from purchasing firearms. The republicans proposed putting a waiting period for those on the "watch lists" and kicking it into the court system. When you buy from a dealer you must fill out ATF paperwork and be subject to an FBI NICS check. The NICS checks will return with a Yes, No, or Wait for further information. I do not know why the democrats voted against the republican bill. The republicans voted against the Democrat bill because it laid out an assumption of guilty until proven innocent and you lost your rights without due process of any kind. Political dissidents could be put on a list. If you were "rickrolled" to a jihadi site you could be put on a list. We currently have people with similar names on watch lists. We have law enforcement professionals on lists. The whole "watch list" thing is a shit show.
.... If we (civilians) have no guns.... Wont we instead use bombs? I mean its not like its difficult to make one and instead of getting gunned down in a hail of bullets it'll be more like no one knew who pushed the button.
Might be cool.
An offhanded youtube comment could do it.
