My cousin (in her twenties mind you) keeps posting about him on Facebook. Typically shirtless and she's all swoony and blindly supportive. They're coming from somewhere. So I'd say there's still quite a few

I know of a person exactly like this, except she's getting married soon.

So is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I think it's good that she's not delusional? At the same time, I think it's weird for her when she's mature enough to get married but is still 'worshipping' someone in that manner. I say 'mature enough' because she comes from a background where she can only get married if she's really ready to settle down, if her parents trust her, not just because she wants to. It's okay to be a fan still, but as you said, "all swoony and blindly supportive", that's kind of weird... Just my opinion. But who knows once she starts a family she might stop doing that.

I feel like for the older ones it's more of a fun thing to do. A way to pass the time and not focus on the fact you aren't where you want to be, or the fact that others feel you aren't where you need to be. So maybe she will calm down when sbe gets married. Or maybe they really feel in their hearts he's just that great and the worshipping will extend to baby names. to each their own so long as they don't support the hate I guess.
