Except Australia is not America, and the police in Britain purposely mislabel violent crimes so the real numbers aren't reported.
Besides, Australia and England aren't America.
And besides besides this ignorant ass is talking about ONE gun. A gun that is rarely ever used in any crime, and a gun with many many configurations, but the banders (ha, poke at OP) only focus on the mean looking AR15 variant just because it looks "bad".
@bassinyoface I usually agree with you (not always, but usually) when you post political stuff but what bit your ass here? Attacking Americans in general? Do you want a nuclear missile shoved up your ass? Because that's how you get a nuclear missile shoved up your ass.
"and the police in Britain purposely mislabel violent crimes so the real numbers aren't reported." - yea, if you're completely running out of arguments, just say: "The government lies to us". You're a very simple person, aren't you?
Not being an English policeman I can't say for absolute certain, but I did read an expose that found that the police do things like write an armed robbery as a trespassing report. International politics aside, I believe it because I saw such things when I was a police officer. Not quite to that extreme, but it happens everywhere.
This is wong on so many levels.
Many Walmarts don't sell guns.
No legal distributor would get away with selling a gun without confirming the buyer's identity and running a backround check.
The Aussie black market has no bearing on what the cartels would put in place.
Finally, banning guns reduces gun homicides, but violent crimes, in Britain at least, are about where they were before guns were heavily restricted.
.
With BS like this floating around, it's no wonder the uninformed think we're crazy for wanting to keep our rights.
Many stopped several years ago. I don't know if it was liability, slow sales, or politics. I've been told all three. My local one stopped selling guns several years ago, but they still sell black powder rifles. There are still two or three within 30 miles of me that sell them, and they all sell ammo if you can find someone to help you!
Considering how many times 'mericans' have saved the world, I'll take that as honest gratitude.
Anyways, many walmarts don't sell guns, I can attest to that personally. Many do sell guns, I can attest to that as well.
Ok, as an Australian only a couple of months to a year ago was the last time I had heard of a shooting in the news (not including the Lindt cafe siege thing) (I also don't really watch the news much either, but..) and those were a string of drive by shootings. I'm not saying that it's not around, it's just rarely talked about mainly. It's also not impossible to get guns. My dad has a gun from when they were still legal and I know plenty of people with rifle licenses who buy them at country clubs and stuff. I can understand wanting guns and stuff to protect yourself but I don't think you need a fully automatic assault rifle to protect your kids. Even a baseball bat (wooden) would do the same job without actually killing anyone. Also, just out of curiosity what's the comedians name?
@fr02ty99, We can't actually get fully automatic rifles in america without several pages of paperwork, a background check about the same intensity a a top secret security screening (usually takes about a year), and the gun must have been manufactured before 1986, which makes them VERY expensive to purchase (If you can actually find someone who is willing to sell). That is only a partial list of what you need to purchase a full auto gun. Oddly enough, the only fully automatic guns used in crime are usually homemade (with a welder and basic knowledge of tool use, you can build a fully automatic copy of a Sten gun for about $100 USD). Extremely illegal, you can get massive fines and jail time if caught. Semiauto rifles are easier to get, fill out about 1.5 pages of paperwork, and wait for the store to run a background check. The problem is, people lie on these forms (imagine that) and then use the guns for illegal activities, case in point, the Orlando shooter should have been denied
his purchase due to his ties with radical Islamic elements. Also, bats are fine (I carry one in my pickup), until you come up against somebody with a gun or other more dangerous weapon. Or dangerous animals (cougars anybody?).
Sad how wrong this comic is. While it is true there were less gun deaths in both the countries he listed, the violent crimes skyrocketed. Deaths are actually worse than here in the US.
I did like the fact that he pointed out the gun that was "going" to be used in Sandy Hook (Never actually used, it was locked in the trunk, so that's an invalid argument for gun control completely) was a bushmaster, and not the devil-be-damned (media and politician reaction these days) AR-15.
Truly sad how people distort the reality just to make a joke, or to further their political careers. Truly sad.
"Deaths are actually worse than here in the US. " - Nope. Not as long as you compare it to countries like Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany. Or to ANY other country about as civilized as the USA.

This doesn't even count the accident killing by guns. Like... toddlers playing with their parents gun.
The USA has so much more violence because you let in all those groups who use violence to,settle arguments and to increase their gangs' drug selling territories. It's easier to have cultural unity and peace when there's racial homogeneity.
Guns just for bands
