I'm working this summer as a file clerk in a law office that still uses WordPerfect bc the business manager doesn't understand Word

Seriously, what is to understand? My mother is...older than most on here and she uses computers at work all day. She may no be tech savvy but she can use them. I don't get this blick some people have, it more unwillingness than ineptitude

When in the work force you have to keep up... Remember that when you get a job

What about people promoted from a non computer job to a computer job. There is no keeping up, there is learning something new.

I'm all for giving employees the proper training they need. Still as a manager, if there was a computer position open and one person already had a lot of the skills and another would need extensive training, I would pick the person I didn't need to training. Personally, I have moved up in my company by being the one who learns the skills for the next rung.
