He doesn't have a chance. The delegates pretty much chose Hillary, and Bernie would rather have her than Trump.

The major parties all hold elections within their own realms (for lack of a better word) and each party then battles their champion against the champions of the other parties. There are 4 major candidates now representing the Democrats, the Libertarians, the Republicans, and the Green Party. Some other parties will cross endorse or present other candidates at the last minute. The largest party is the Democrats followed by the Republicans and waaaaaaaaaaay down the line are the libertarians then even fuuuuuurrrrrther down the line is every other party.
