They did the same thing during the cold war. They would have practice drills where kids would hide underneath their desks in case a nuclear bomb was dropped near them/on them.
Gotta' do something to make people feel safer, right? (sarcasm)
It only goes against everything this nation represents.
Why not ban freedom of speech and religion while you're at it?
Due process and the right to a fair trial too.
Without guns, there isn't a single thing the people could do to prevent crime or tyranny from planting too deep roots.
United States is not going to give up guns anytime soon, but really the guns aren't doing a whole lot against tyranny as of late. Money is the new weapon of choice.
An armed citizenry deters tyranny.
It's why we haven't lost even more of our rights.
The politicians trying to outlaw guns are the same ones who want to get rid of due process, restrict freedom of speech, and outlaw certain foods.
We have already lost miles by surrendering inches, if we give up a mile, we will lose everything.
I noticed that the gun ban comments get downvoted to hell... metioned it and they treat you like a fucking degenerate. Geez, what a bunch of uncivilized people. No wonder you shoot up schools. Deter tyrany? In a country that is one of the most wealthy out there but all belongs to a small percentage... there's fucking areas in the US that look like out of a third world country. Tyranny has already taken you all and drain the everyday people and unless you are part of your elite... you will feed the rich and powerful for generations with your sweat and blood. But for whatever reason people over there can't see it, denies it, and looks away. Maybe because you are too busy shooting kids in schools.
You don't need to use a gun to defend yourself against someone with a gun if no one has guns. Having a gun is a freedom but at the moment it letting everyone have a gun isn't working out well is it
@famousone Australia is more liveable than your shithole of a country will every be. You know why? because we have the same freedoms as you except we can only carry a gun with a license. We have had no school massacres and barely terrorist attacks
