But he didn't know the law, nit in Canadian law, and not thise pertaining to sexual assault. He transferred from South Africa, and he himself stated all his colleagues knew he didn't know the law.

It should be common sense not to say "why didn't you just keep your knees together?" Plus he could have studied it easily enough whilst the case was on going..
The article is in the source. Long story short he aquited the guy because he had no understanding of canadian law concerning sexual assault...his excuse. Now he may get taken off the bench all together
The things he said were horrendous. How could you say those things to a victim of sexual assault? How could he say that to her attacker? I am in shock.
The first is self evident. He has no political or diplomatic experience and his own PR team can't keep him in line. The second, alsi self evident given that the man said it himself in the sourced article
I think we should look more Into the case cause I think CNN makes some things worse than they have to be and maybe she was doing drugs but I didn't read it all so yea
Tbh tho he should be demoted for this shit...
UPDATE: I realize I had said 'story highlights' as ' stop highlights'.
Seriously though, stop it
Maybe he was trying to prove that the rapist used force against her.
I'm not supporting him, just showing an edample.
