Exactly. It doesn't sound very appealing right? That's why I never understood why people smoke.

I'm not sure why they start in the first place, but people get addicted to it because of nicotine and no tobacco. It's a common misconception, but the properties of nicotine cause addiction to the cigarette and not tobacco.

Nicotine causes a buzz, for the first while after you start smoking it isn't addictive, but the addiction catches you off guard
