Thats because wikileaks just proved that the DNC is functioning in concert with liberal media (CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, NPR, ESPN, Huffington post, etc). Proving that those media outlets are only showing you versions of the news that the DNC wants people to see. If you are an exclusive watcher of said media outlets, these leaks should scare the hell out of you! Literally everything you have seen/read has a spin. Now the question you need to answer is: Why would the DNC want to control peoples views?
How could any of this be bad for the citizens of the USA? Why on earth would any reasonable media outlet even suggest that we'd be better off not knowing that the voting system is rigged and that Bernie should have had a lagit shot at the nomination?
And now the founder of wikileaks, whos held up in an Ecuadorean embassy, has miraculously had his internet shut off. And refuses to address the public in person for fear of his life. The guy who exposed all of this corruption is a bad guy??
And the DNC's puppet (today its hillary) is still leading in our presidential polls dispite the fact that her heart can hardly keep her uprite for more than two hours??
Wikileaks isnt really a news sourse in the sense of current events and braking news. They specialize in large chunks of data, and information that wasnt ment to be seen by the public. Interestingly enough the conservative media condemmed wikileaks 4 years ago while liberal media applauded the whistle blowing organization. It seems to suggest they exsist to inform the people and have very little political lean.
I appreciate the forced transparency, but it's not the same as what journalists do or did. These are not American citizens trying to better their country. This is an outside force putting American information out there for all to see. Edward Snowden is American, but neither WikiLeaks, nor Julian Assange are. They are not motivated to act in the best interest of the United States. So I can see the concern.
To be honest, the way things are, I believe we can no longer can see politics in the "nation state" view when we live in a globalized world. What happens in the American vote affects everyone across the world. It has affected everyone across the world since the great wars. This is the world we live in now... every country's shift in power affects everyone everywhere.
This is why it's important to support local news outlets and worry more about local politics. Newspaper journalists used to blow the whistle on city corruption, but now we've gotten so global it's easy to ignore the fact that our local politicians have more of an impact on our daily lives than the president.
Perhaps because of wikileaks's immense bias and probable Russian ties.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we know this stuff, but, preferably, I would like the source not to be in Putin's pocket.
Can I use wikileaks for news?
cool.
