Not really. Kovu wasn't even related to Scar.

Not really. I think scar was his dad, and scar was simbas uncle. Thats simbas daughter, so scar would be her great uncle. So they're second cousins

Scar wasn't even his dad,actually. Though that's only briefly mentioned in the film.
