North Carolina gets about 2-7 inches a year:
School system shuts down
Roads shut down
Everyone shuts down
News talks about the snow for the next few days.
Meanwhile lots of kids in other places get feet of snow and they still have to go to school.

I remember one year in elementary we got 4.5 feet of snow over the weekend, nope they didn't cancel it at all.

Where I live, if it snows one flake there's no school for three days. We don't get much snow.

If doesn't matter how much snow we get or how cold it is, the rules state that for school to be shut down it has to be considered a blizzard. I've had to go to school at -40
