Not unusual. Asian families are brought up from birth to be hard workers. Every chinese/japanese place in my town is run by a single family barely having any workers outside the family, kids start from as young as seven maybe mopping floors or stuff. I admire it but can't help but think it's wrong.
Nope, not at all. I'm asian, from both sides of the families, and this is how we learn time management, disclipine, hard work, and math.
I don't know about the others but this is how we learn independence for our future
My father made me pull out weeds from the back yard and scrub the floor on my knees. It may have been a bit hard when I was younger, but it helped me alot as an adult.
