" why are mens razors cheaper ?! "
First, most men just shave their face so they only need to be made to shave there, not everywhere below the neck
Second, if it bothers you so much buy the men's ones
Lastly, despite what some strange people think, men don't get tax free/plain free razors
"men don't get tax free/plain free razors"
What?
I have tried both and they are literally the same thing. So I just buy the men's razors bc they're cheaper. Easy.
It depends. Some things I'll buy that are for men such as razors (they work better than women's razors) and shaving foam but some things I can't buy that are cheaper for men and not women, such as deodorant, shower products and facial products.
It's mostly the principle of it, why should two things that are the same be priced differently because of the gender they're aimed at? You've got to make one cheaper or knew more expensive, either way the prices should be equal.
I found this video interesting enough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JDmb_f3E2c
Basically, they tried slapping for men/for women on their gender neutral products, saw sales go up, and kept at it.
I've used mens and womens razors and for me the Mens razors did better on shaving my face. My wife liked it for her legs better too so it all works out.
Explanation (May be incorrect)
The content is definitely not the same, otherwise there won't be labels.
The labels are not the most accurate, as clearly it's depended on your hairstyle, not gender
Same idea as razors
If men's works for you, then you can buy it.

most of this whole "women pay more" BS is because of production. different chemicals or different proportions. the perfumes and the coloring. these all are factors. women's razors typically have better lubrication. men usually handle more harsher soaps, women's soap tend to be more silky. women's products are usually luxury versions of products and men's are usually the standard or the discount brand. also, just because you can find the odd example that this isn't true doesn't mean this doesn't explain the majority of goods.

I'll agree that women's razors have more lubrication but the blades are crapper.

i never tried them myself since i am a guy. when my wife moved in i had her try my razor and she preferred it. now we buy supersized refill packs and save tons of money. i think the women's razors are designed differently to handle larger arias and to last longer. but it doesn't seem to be as sharp. they may have larger gaps to keep them from clogging up so easily. there are most likely many factors that lead to higher cost, but seemingly lower quality. if anything it is failure of research and development.
I think it's more cause men usually get it shaved really short so it's easier to do, but most women that complain about expensive hair does at the ones going to expensive salons and shunning people that get their hair done on the cheap.

Yes but if I wanted my hair done short like that it'd still cost me a shit ton more.
For example, if I wanted my hair cut & blow dried (no matter how I wanted it done) at Toni & Guys near where I live, done by the art director it'd cost me £50 but if my husband wanted the same thing it'd cost him £38. Even if we got the same haircut it'd still cost me more.
Rather than charge by gender it'd be fairer to charge by hair length.
As a cosmetologist I can confirm this: men's shower products tend to have higher concentration of alcohol, thus making it cheaper.
Most cutterys have base prices. But target men cuts/styles cheaper because we know most women will pay the extra money. Not all, but most.
Thats a good point, what if it is the same ingredients but different proportions or amounts? That could change amount it cost to make which would make it a different purchase price.
nothing mysterious about it. They want to make money, and labeling them like that probably makes sales go up and allows them to price them differently (which IS pretty sleazy)
