Hangman is a game in which you have to guess a word by using the Alphabet. If you use a letter that isn't inside of the word you remove a limb(arm, leg, body, etc.) from the hanging man in the drawing until nothing is left. in this comic, the executioners take the game a little to literal and use an actually person.

Really, I've always played with adding parts on so once he's filled you lose. I thought that's what's happening due to the needle and thread.
