nah her comment was meant to be offensive and his remark is justified. Hetero men cant know about make up? Do they live in caves? Must never have moms, sisters, girlfriends or wise. Heads up: not all men run screaming from the room when a woman does something feminine.
Wow, I guess everything is offensive in this day and age. I guess it does come handy to assholes like this. All they have to do is cry "I'm offended" and they have an excuse to be a douchebag. In fact, the society will cheer them on. So sad.
No, anything can be taken as an insult. You can say the meanest things about me and I probably wouldn't care cause I'm not that easily offended and I really wouldn't care about your opinion about me. Also, we have very little context, and know literally nothing about (her) intent. On the other hand, the guy's intent was clearly hurtful, yet he gets praised as a hero. Ludacris.
You know, for someone saying everyone's getting offended for calling him gay you're throwing the hugest hissy fit over us thinking another way than you
I'm just trying to explain my point of view, and I like discussions. I do often find myself on the other side of what the majority finds right or true. I still think I'm right in this particular instance. And not to be nitpicky, but I never said everyone was offended. I just found it funny that everyone was on board with him being a prick just because he got offended by something so harmless. I don't mind anyone thinking differently than me, I just think they're wrong :-) (in this particular instance ofc)
I guess it depends on ones general viewpoint. I honestly don't find anything she wrote remotely offensive. I thought the gay thing was said jokingly, as a play on these stereotypes (dude knows makeup=must be gay lol). Like I said, some people are just too sensitive.
So maybe he was an asshole before. We don't know and it's not really relevant. In this particural conversation piece he's the one who comes off as petty and rude IMO.
Gay isn't insulting, but the way she said it is offensive because she's implying that only gay (men) are the only boys would know what that is, so he replied, I don't see how he is in the wrong.
But she's really not. I can't believe how much you lot are reading into this tiny bit of a conversation. She was just genuinely surprised that this one specific guy knows what that makeup sponge is. Probs because she knows him not being into makeup. She made a simple silly joke and he went all bitchy on jer. Again, that's just how I see it. I guess most people nowadays get offended a lot easier.
