I think most of Shakespeare's work is entirely unremarkable. Even at its best, it is popularized, over-represented dime store drivel.

I agree. Some of the plays had stupid premises for a storyline, I hated doing Macbeth back in year Seven. Romeo and Juliet had too many inconsistencies, and Othello was a bit weird. The Tempest was alright but still had stupid things happening in it.
