Frequency hopping was invented independently by a host of people. It's still impressive that she has a legitimate claim, though. The US military uses a few different kinds of frequency hopping for enhanced security.

Hedy Lamarr actually co-created the idea of using quickly changing music stations in order to help guide missles during WWII. Their ideas were never implemented and quickly forgotten as it was considered a joke by top military brass. Only in the last few years has her so-called-invention become known due to the discovery of some paperwork. Hedy Lamarr never actually talked about it after getting shot down. She gets an honorable mention at most, as nothing actually came from her idea and we'd still have today's technology if she kept her thoughts to herself.
