All companies nearly always overbook, because they know that not everybody will show on the plane. It is illegal when more than the capacity turns up, like in United, but selling it isn't
That was a great video. I personally never blamed the police in the incident; he was just doing his job. I think the fault lies with how the airline does things. If you need employees to fly on that flight, reserve them first with more priority so people don't have to get kicked off of planes. Of course, I'm no expert in the matter.
