While I feel bad for people who actually suffer getting triggered it's fun to make fun of people who pretend to have it because they want oppression points

Yeah this post is definitely for people who make fun of triggers but also people who claim to have them
I will add one more thing to the real trigger list that doesn't fit under those categories really.
.
Things like self harming/suicide stuff imho should be tagged considering for some(at least me) seeing self harm stuff really gets me upset and makes me really uncomfortable and makes me feel urges again.
.
I guess it could fall under that, but I do think things like suicide/self harm/stuff like that should be tagged/have warnings.
I feel you, amadog! And I'm so sorry you have to deal with urges -I'm in the same boat. But I can tell you that time can help! As can avoiding suicide/SI imagery until you're ready. So I 100% support tags/warnings.
Thank you! :) I'm doing a ton better I haven't self harmed in several years, and the suicidal thoughts come and go. But mostly I don't deal with them anymore.
.
I do know when I was still really recovering seeing those things would be so tempting.
I appreciate this post very much. As someone who suffers from PTSD (due to rape/abuse) it's hard when I have a flashback or anything legitimately triggers an episode of sheer panic. It can stop me to the point of being absolutely frozen and I can't do much at all. So for those people who assume that a "trigger" is something mildly uncomfortable- I am sorry to say you're wrong and I hope you never experience a real episode where this impacts your life.

Sorry for the rant, just something I'm passionate about trying to help others understand.
