HAHAHAHHAHHAHAHA
God literally says slavery is okay as long as it's not his chosen people (Israelite)
Raping children is okay - as long as they don't worship him.
Genocide? Well, as long as the Israelites have my permission.
God is a cruel sadistic bastard (If he were real we'd probably get along) and DEFINITELY shows favoritism.
My personal favorites:
-
Deuteronomy 22:28-29 -- If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.
Layman's terms? If you rape a girl then it's fine as long as you pay her dad some money and marry the girl - the girl's consent for the marriage is optional.
-
Ephesians 6:5 -- Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ.
Slaves should obey their masters as if they were God.
The Bible is not the lovey-dovey place Christians like to pretend it is. Just read Genesis - the first book! - and you'll see that it is a sadistic and evil book with an even worse God.
Oh in case you're one of the misinformed Christians who refuse to believe that they still need to listen to the Old Testament...
Matthew 5:17
"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil

Either Jesus was lying which means that he is not the son of Yahweh and all of Christianity is a lie (Which it is, but you'll find it more difficult to dismiss the word of your suppsed God) or the Old Testament's still stand.
And Yahweh admits to being evil:
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. Isaiah 45:7-2
-
Behold, this evil is of the LORD. 2 Kings 6:33
-
Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle. 2 Kings 21:12
-
Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the curses that are written in the book. 2 Chronicles 34:24
-
All the evil that the LORD had brought upon him Job 42:11
-
The Lord ... will bring evil. Isaiah 31:1-2
-
Maybe if Christians actually read their Holy Book then they wouldn't be religious. Like they always say, "Nothing makes Atheists better than the Bible."
1. Settle down man, no need to get so pissy.
2. I'm damn near positive all of those are taken WAYY out of context. I've read my bible and I've not heard crap like that, not to mention the Bible DOES say Jesus came to free us from the law of the Old Testament. He is the Lamb, the ultimate sacrifice to cleanse us.
-
You believe as you want to, however. I don't want to get into a massive religious debate.
Not a single one is out of context - I know. I checked. You are being willfully ignorant. I can only hope that I've started the process that will make you an Atheist.
Also as you Jesus freeing you from the Old Text... Than was Jesus lying? He said that he was not here to do so - and yet you are saying he is. Either way I'm sure the Bible does say that. It is a work of fiction made by flawed humans, so it is understandable for it to have contradictions and false information.
