I'm presuming by the clean lines that it's movement not clicks, so I'm guessing the dots are from not moving the mouse, but still; why didn't s/he move the mouse there? Was my question
Perhaps that's where they left their mouse when taking a break.

the dots are the heatmap points of the mouseclicks. there is a software who create this images, i had the same software a while ago. if you clicked somewhere really often, there was a point.. more clicks = bigger point / dot.
edit: okay i tested it, it was not clicks, it was how long you don't move your mouse cursor. if you let the mouse position rest a while, the point get bigger and bigger. i really thought it was with mouse clicks :/
Watching Youtube, Comment on News Portals, Browsing Forums.. will get you this image :P http://i.imgur.com/rwQNH62.png 2.6 hours of youtube+forums^^ on top you can see where my tabs in my browser are placed, and on the bottom where the youtube video player is, and the big dots are from watching videos & don't move the mouse in this time.. stalk me one more time *sing*..
