Today is the one year anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, over 49 people were killed and it is the deadliest mass shooting in American History and Hate Crime carried out by an individual.
I am from Orlando. I remember I had a show on that day last year. There were missing cast members, especially one who had worked at pulse. She, forunetly, was not there but the stories she told of her friends who were, shook me to the core. That night, we dedicated our show to those friends that we lost and the family we will no longer be with. It's so hard, to see the families just walk down the street, see a sign dedicated to their son or daughter and just crumble. In fact, I was walking down the street and one of the victim's members saw a Publix dedication to their son (whom worked at that Publix). Then, the Orlando City Soccer Game, where the whole stadium was filled with rainbow colors, the team bearing rainbows. I don't know what it must have been like for you, but for me, it wasn't so close that I heard the helicopters and the wailing sirens in the night.
Have a little respect please, over 49 people died, its considered one of the deadliest mass shootings in American History carried out by an individual.
