Also make sure to document (record if possible) and call the police to inform them what you are doing and why. We want as much evidence against these assholes as possible

give it a second tho and assess the situation. We've had someone almost break the window of our running car when our large dog had air, water, and opened windows. Or once someone started pounding in the door and causing a fuss when I was in the car, on my phone laying in the seat next to her

Using a brick is a great way to get clocked in the face when it bounces off the safety glass. You're better off with a small sharp rock or better yet a piece of broken ceramic.
