Is there an extra tax for being stupid?

The question that arose around the fire Labor Day weekend was about public workers being unionized. Have they formed unions against the taxpayers and voters, including themselves?

Yes but they don't see it as such. Definitely didn't work to the taxpayers benefit when I worked in the public sector. I'm sure they didn't want to pay for people showing up to work drunk and sleeping through their shifts but the union made it impossible to fire them. (Well they did get fired, but got their job back almost immediately.) I'm not a fan of unions in government jobs.
