Lies parents tell their kids

I told my brother every time you flip a light switch on it takes a minute off your life after he kept turning the lights off and running away. Didn't realize he took it seriously until a few weeks later my mom asked him to turn on a light and he wouldn't do it.

My sister loved the ocean, I convinced her that if she ate seaweed it would turn her in to a mermaid... my mom wasn't amused when she constantly had to run after her pulling seaweed out if her mouth...

the ones about giants and hills is actually based on myths. in Northern Europe there existed a myth that when Giants died, they just became hills (or mountains)... because giants were made of stone and such.
