Just got kicked out, I'm still in school and can't get a good enough job to pay rent but I managed to get some of my stuff before shit really hit the fan. Didn't manage to get my computer or any of my cash so I'm going off what I've got in my back account.
Can you ask to get your stuff and leave? I mean it seems harsh, even for the person who kicked you out, to leave you without all of your belongings. Sorry about your situation :(
@kolorblind. HOLYSHIT! I really hate to hear that bubba(bubbet). I’d ask nicely to get your stuff back at first. Maybe even “kiss his/her butt” enough just to get the stuff ya need an then ya can bolt out of that place. I think some states have laws that say landlords can’t keep your stuff hostage. If you owe them $$ they gotta bring ya to court. Maybe go to the library an do some checking to see what the laws are. Like guest said, that’s harsh that the landlord will kick ya out without lettin ya get anything.
SHIT!!! That really F-ING sucks!!! If you are a minor an he kicks ya out on to the streets with no place to go, food to eat or shelter to get you out of the weather, then that’s technically “child abuse” if ya wanna get his ass call the police an say he is neglecting you. That of course if you really don’t have a place to go and he is your legal guardian. I don’t know if he is gonna try an say anything to screw you. He could say you hit him or something to make him the victim. I am only hearing your side of story of course. But if ya didn’t do anything wrong an he just kicked ya out then ya can go for child neglect. But then ya could be put in a foster home an haft to go through all that BS. So it’s up to you if ya wanna go that route
I'm old enough to be on my own anyways since I'm 17. Currently renting a buddies apartment while I look at my legal options. Since I buy everything myself it looks like I can legally claim it as my own even as a minor. Think he took my desktop to his work so on his day off I'm going in with my actual dad to back me up on it and force his boss to let us take it back.
