What did we all do up to 2 years ago before it was forced down our throats by Obama? That's right, the net worked for decades without these made up "issues". Pull your little panties out of your posterior.
Pretty sure the whole net neutrality thing only went into effect because of some ISP throttling connections like no tomorrow, but I've only heard that from the grapevine.
Pretty sure the whole Net Neutrality thing only went into effect because Netflix, Facebook, and Google wanted to get the Government involved so they could keep all their profits to themselves and force ISPs to ship their content for free, even though the bandwidth required to ship their content to residential consumers requires greater infrastructure investments and costs ISPs money in improvements that the consumers are either forced to pay for or the ISPs are forced to eat the invement in as losses.
But hey, if the government can step in and save their big buddies from losing some cash, all the better!
Couple things...1) it hasn't passed though Congress yet so we can still stop this bullshit. 2) the internet will still work but we'll all be paying extreme fees to the big communication companies, not to mention public spaces that will be charging for Wi-Fi so they can pay said fees. 3) an open and free internet benefits everyone. Repealing net neutrality is another step towards a dystopia- freedom of the internet/press/speech are all part of a functioning democracy and this bill takes that away.
More than likely, it's not gonna come through with a bang. It's gonna start subtle, with maybe a few extra packages and a slow decline in internet speed on some sites, and it's gonna keep getting worse, until we're boiled alive some years from now.
