My kindergarten teacher said my artwork was inspired. What references does this nobody have?

It makes me mad that the legitimate skill and patience and determination required to make something like this is looked down upon on in favor of a couple of different-colored splotches or whatever passes as "art"("modern" or whatever) these days.
