Theres a story of one guy who built his own prosthetic leg out of pvc pipe and works 12 hrs a day. I have a $15k leg and can only wear it for a few hours.

Wow I always just assumed that it was comfortable and someone could wear prosthetics for a whole day with ease. Do you mind me asking in what way it gets uncomfortable? Is there something you could compare it to?

Not at all :) Every amputee is dif. There's traumatic amputees(car wrecks, diabetes, bombs ect), then ones like mine. I chose every aspect of my amputation. Time, date, how much to amputate. But I fall into a sub catagory. I have no fibula(bone behind shin), a deformed tibia, deformed knee that has no cartilage, stress fractures in the tibia, and a femur that's 10% shorter than the other. I go to the top prosthetic company in the world but with that much damage from birth, theres only so much that can be done. Hence my decision to amputate above knee in about 3 weeks. Id say its about the same as when your sleeping limb starts to wake up. Except your wearing a shoe thats 5 times too small when the pain goes away. Then theres phantom pain. 10 years later and sometimes it feels like a red hot knife goes into the top of my foot for about 30 seconds whenever it feels like it. Lol its a wild ride.
