There's another albeit more obscure serial killer out there that puts these ones to shame, except for Pedro Lopez: Gustave the crocodile. Gustave is rumored to have killed and eaten more than 300 people, a number only surpassed by the Champawat Tiger (which killed 436 people), the Leopard of Panar (which killed 400 people), and the crocodiles of Ramree Island (which killed anywhere from 400 to 980 Japanese soldiers during the battle of Ramree Island in 1945). The reason why Gustave has eaten so many people is up for debate, though many concur that is a result of his giant size which stops him from eating normal Nile Crocodile prey items like wildebeest and zebra and forced him to take down buffalo, hippos, and people.
Sweeney Todd, “the demon barber of Fleet Street” is a musical set in Victorian times about a barber who, in most adaptions, comes home to London after fifteen years of being wrongfully imprisoned to take revenge on the judge who sentenced him, raped his wife and adopted his daughter. Sweeney then swears vengeance on the entire human race when he can’t have his revenge on the judge and murders as many people as he can, slitting his customers’ throats with a razor while his business associate Mrs. Lovett bakes the bodies into meat pies and sells them.
Sorry for fact checking nazi reply, but Katyn (the no. 2) was not just murder of soldiers in a POW, what was worse: It was murder of also lots of members of then elite (journalists, writers, politicians) marked as reservists.
