I think it depends on the country too. Not every country is full of overly offended pussies. Here in New Zealand a lot of people and children are called monkeys whether they're white or black. No one takes offense. In America, a child advertising a jersey with monkey on it, is seen as a racial thing.

Nope. You're supposed to, when you learn a word has been used to demean, hurt, and drive other humans to commit suicide, stop using it. Not knowing is one thing. Claiming everyone is just "overly sensitive" as an excuse to keep using a stupid word that means nothing to you but hurts other people is another story. And in that story, the person who now knows that no matter where or who you are, using that word has the serious potential to hurt another human and they keep using it anyway is not a kind or compassionate person.

Listen man no one cares that people are gay or that they are attracted to other things. It is just a playground insult you are choosing to be offended by it. I remember i was hanging around some kids who were making fun of mormons in my ceramic class I could have easily been offended but I just said hey it doesnt mean anything to me and my beliefs its cool. You need to grow up dont be a child dont go cry to your mom when someone says something offensive. Heck I remember in my elementary school some kid was just insulting me and stuff and I went to the teacher and she just told me to ignore him. Except that people DO care. People get murdered for being gay. People get taunted and bullied mercilessly, lose their jobs and families, and get treated like hellbound scum for being gay. Until that stops being so common that it's not even unique enough to get into the news, you don't get to act like they are just special snowflakes being easily offended.

Dont pretend its common wtf it does not happen ever day of every week unless its in the middle east stop pretending like there are a bunch of gay people getting beaten up in the streets by people. There is a gay pride parade every month somewhere. Unless you are in russia or the middle east you are doing ok and in some cases better than other people.
