I mean this does seem baited. Why not open with "hey are you still selling your iphone?" I've had plenty of seemingly innocent randoms turn real creepy real fast when i've been polite, so its not an entirely insane reaction for her to have

She has probably had a lot of creeps hit on her in this way and is just trying to protect herself. Backfired, but maybe not entirely her fault
