Someone explained that they couldn't fly because the eagles are too powerful and if they carry the ring they will become an unstoppable force that's why Gandalf does not touch the ring. It's a good explanation but in the Hobbit movie this happens and nothing happens. So I don't know LOL

why would sauron let the eagles just fly into his mountain bruh like ohhh there they go wish there was something I could do to stop it. He has nazgules and all sorts of archers.
