You should still have your own money in a marriage

That’s not how that works in my household. I have my money, my wife has her money. We spend our money on each other. When I need money she gives me money, when she needs money I give her money. What’s ours is ours. For context we grossed over $210,000CAD last year so even the middle class needs to take a hundo sometimes.

I always believed that even when you are with or dependant on someone, you should still be independent. You never know if something may turn sour and your relationship could crumble, money can also be a trigger for this. Lending each other money is fine, you're married after all but I think it's best to still keep finances separate for the most part.
