Many of these are very true. I spoke to an American woman on the phone at my work's head office. Asked her how she was, and spent 20 minutes listening to her complain about her neighbour, instead of the proper English: 'fine thanks, you?' I was far to English to interrupt and tell her to process my order.....
Americans are so self centered, half the time they won't even ask you how your day was. I am by birth an American but was raised Mexican and all you have to say is I'm fine thank you and yourself. Is it that hard!
I'm American and all I say is "Good, you?" so don't stereo type... Completely. Yeah, I think most of my classmates are complete assholes, douchebags, and morons (though I keep this to myself- no one likes listening to people complaining) if you find the right people you can get a good small circle of close friends.
I have to agree. If you ask them how their day is and they literally tell you, it's kind of your fault, because you asked.
If its someone I don't really know, I say I'm fine and ask them how they are, they usually say the same thing and then we move on about our day.
However, if its a friend of mine I'm talking too, I usually start bitching about something that happened that morning or the night before.
And I am an American.
