Absolutely nothing is non gmo, not because government chemicals but because we've been doing it for millenia. Gmo is such a vague term that i means nothing and farmers have always selectively bread plants and animals to help them survive longer and under different conditions and that counts as genetically modifying so technically everything is gmo... even people, women tend to pick men with larger penisis and as a result our species has one of the largest penis sizes (in relation to total size) of most of the creatures on our planet so... ya

There are no such thing as non gmo people because certain traits of human beings have been bread in and out of the common gene pool based on what was believed to be attractive... aka we are all gmo too, as a species, people who are against gmo technically shouldn't be because they're gmo too

Oh... ya well i guess we're both right and the should not have access to puppers until they fight the real problem! Harmfully chemically processed food and poor inspection regulation!

Technically that all sounds good as a selling point for gmo. But remember that the fish in the cooling ponds at Chernobyl are also gmo so how many of us want to step up to that Buffet? Selective breeding and altering genes with chemicals or radiation is not the same thing. But Monsanto sure what you to believe it is.

Gmo is such a vague term that it legally encompasses any genetic altercation in any way possible. Technically if you bread a husky with blue eyes and a husky with green eyes the resulting puppies are gmo dogs under the definition and this is a problem because we've always modified things (1 that's how evaluation works and 2 that's how farming has always worked) but now people slapped a all encompassing logo on chemically modified and processed stuff to try and fight it but due to poor understanding and miss-labelling they actually made it easier to chemically change and processes everything legally... so woops. Basically the term GMO has about as much meaning as "organic" which is to say nothing, any company can legally twist the definition in their favour as long as they take a few careful steps.

Actual Zambian here. There has never once been a famine in Zambia in it's entire history since it's colonization. They probably didn't want it because there is so much maze that it would drop selling prices too low for farmers.

OR MAYBE Zambia turned down GMOs because GMOs have basically been destroying the lives of poor farmers. Monsanto has been giving farmers “suicide seeds” meaning farmers can’t save seed each year and are dependent on GMO companies. The competition btwn farmers easily allows GMO companies to force farmers into either participating in the GMO industry or failing.

But why not accept the grown corn and not the seeds ? Wouldn't they be able to feed the people without risking future crops ?

No, cause they couldn't guarantee that nobody would plant the seeds. That story is 16 years old btw.
